Levi’s first baseball game and that Sandberg Fella

Thursday night marked the first game as manager of the Iowa Cubs for Ryne Sandberg. The ‘new guy’ is going to stand in the coach’s box at 3rd base for the season. Ryne says he wants to manage in the major leagues. So, this stop in Des Moines may be a short one.

He received a major league welcome as he was introduced. He was signing autographs almost 4 minutes before first pitch. He’s vowed to sign as much as he can and Thursday, he lived up to his word.

Here’s a slideshow from the night.

Going to Iowa Cubs games is like old hat for Noah. He was excited as I mentioned in this earlier post. He did pretty good and served a good blanket for me as he was sharing a seat as our row was full.

This was Levi’s first game. He didn’t last long, but had a big set of smiles in his parka.

See you at the ballpark in Section 10.

And thanks to the ICubs for having the tunes rocking tonight. Big ups for great music. Keep it going.
